Food in School

Celebrations

We know that some children like to bring food in to share when it is their birthday or other special family times. However, we have a number of children in school who have very significant (and potentially life-threatening) allergies. If your child brings treats of this nature into school, please make sure they are individually wrapped sweets/biscuits, so children with allergies can be kept safe.

Milk in School

One third of a pint of milk will be provided daily for those children who pay a small termly charge payable in advance. Children who partake in the 'Milk in Schools Scheme' benefit from a subsidy from the Intervention Board. This represents a significant reduction in the actual cost of milk when parents/carers receive income support, or other benefits.

Our school milk is supplied by Cool Milk.
You can make an online application for free milk here.

Children in receipt of free milk will be eligible for other benefits in school, such as free school trips. Please ask in school for more information.

'Fruit for School' Scheme

Under the Change for Life scheme, each child is provided with a piece of fruit or vegetable each day. The fruit is available from the classroom to be eaten during the morning break and is free of charge.
